Rear Window Redux - Love Our Lurkers Day 8

Welcome, everyone, to LOL 8 - organised, as ever, by Bonnie at My Bottom Smarts (where you'll also find Bonnie's own LOL post, together with a list of all the participating blogs).

Those of you who've done this before - it's the fourth time that Underling's Humblings has had the pleasure - will know the score by now. For those who haven't, it goes a little like this:

Today's the day when we celebrate our 'lurkers' - the very many visitors who tiptoe through our sites and rarely, if ever, type stuff into the comment box that's tucked away under each post (look, look, there it is - down a bit, down a bit... there you go!)

Now, I really do appreciate every single person who stops by, enjoys the pictures and animations and stories and occasional ramblings, and keeps the hit counter ticking over. But what I really, really love is to hear from you lot - even if it's only to say hello. After all a hit count is just a number, but a comment is a person is a human connection in the vast and sometimes impersonal world of online kinkery.

So whether you're a regular chatterbox here or you've never commented before, it'd be wonderful if you chose today to pop up and say hello. You can say as much or as little as you like, and if you want you can be totally anonymous - no registration required! Tell me a little about yourself, what you do and (grits teeth) don't like about the blog, what your cat's name is, what you had for breakfast.

And while you're thinking what to write, enjoy 'Rear Window Redux' - the revisited and revised version of the nosy neighbour simulator I posted about this time last year. For the traditionalists among you, it now features actual spanking, prolonged but oh-so-tastefully silhouetted nudity and, um, completion of the domestic chores whose neglect got our hero in trouble in the first place.

Happy lurking... and if you feel like de-lurking, don't forget to say hi. It really will make my day. :)

  1. Happy LOL Day, Underling. I've been here before but don't think I have commented so I am delurking.

  2. Wow, four years? I guess time does go by quickly when we have to wait ages for a new post. Hint, hint. :D I'm still hoping to have you come over for Fika sometime soon.

    Happy LOL Day. :)

  3. Happy Love Our Lurkers Day, Underling. I don't believe that I have commented here before, even though I have known about your blog for quite a while. So I am actually a delurker.

It's nice to see a FM blog that is interesting and personal and focuses on writing rather than just posting a bunch of pictures. There are too few blogs like yours in our community.

    1. A good picture with a good story is the perfect combination. The picture has to trigger your attention, the story is to share the writer's fantasy.

    2. Thanks, Ludwig. I think you're right - it's normally Kaelah who comments here - but it's great to hear from the other half of your team! :)

    1. Hi there, P, and likewise. We should make a pact to exchange comments once a month. At my current rate, that would guarantee me at least one comment per post. ;)

    1. Thank you, Hermione. I felt a bit of a cheat rehashing that animation, but then I did promise a year ago to finish it off and it seemed like the perfect opportunity - not to mention that I spent quite a few more hours on it and as a result didn't get to bed until 5am - much like last year. :)

  8. Your rear window post is one of my all time favourites so a redux is a real bonus , so thanks Underling!
I know what you mean about lurkers as i recently started my own blog at glenmoretales.blogspot,ca with lots of visitors but barely a comment , so its hard to figure out whether people love or hate the blog.
If you have time to stop by your expert opinion/comments would be appreciated!

    1. Thank you, G, It felt good to finally keep my promise of actually proceeding to the spanking, and then I decided we could extend it further still.

I've visited your blog a few times already and really like it, but the Google+ thing has been keeping me from actually adding a comment, I'll see if I can work around it. Meanwhile, don't be disheartened - it takes a while to build up a following, but once people start to chime in regularly then it all becomes worth it. :)

  16. Hi, my cat is called Rita and I had poached eggs on toast this morning. You are my favourite blogger, your illustrations are delightfully witty and often make me giggle. I've never vacuumed for my spanker, but perhaps I should else I may find myself across his knee. Thanks your work is great x

    1. Hello there, Anon. Rita is a fine name for a cat. And poached eggs on toast is just about my favourite breakfast. If your spanker gets to eat those in the morning, then he is a lucky fellow indeed!

Thanks for the kind words. :) x

  27. Sir: I salute you. This rear window animation is amazing. What software did you use to create it?

    1. Thanks very much, Josh. We don't go in much for saluting around here - we're very informal - but your kind words are much appreciated :).

All my animations (there are lots more on the site - check out the 'Animation' label at the top-right of the page) are created using Adobe Flash.

  28. Not sure if you are still out there Undie but was wondering now that flash player is gone for good is there any way we can view your wonderful Rear Window animations?
They are among my all time favourites and it would be too bad if we can no longer enjoy them.

    1. Hello Glenmore.

      Lovely to hear from you!

Yes, I'm still alive and kicking, and I hope to post again at some point, after a very long hiatus indeed.

I'm also sad about the demise of my Flash animations, and the ugly broken gaps that have been left on the blog as a result. The animations were a highlight of the site and always popular, and I loved making them (well, honestly, there always came a point where I couldn't wait to see the back of each one, but I hope the end result of all my toil was worth it).

Unfortunately I don't know of any way to reliably convert the animations to a new, supported format, and you won't find a browser now that will host the Flash player plugin to run them.

The only workaround I'm aware of is to publish them as standalone executable programs that will run in isolation on your computer. I should still have all the source files somewhere, which should allow me to do that for selected ones. If you'd like to get in touch by email, we can give it a try and I'll see if I can get one across to you.

Best wishes to you, my friend! :)
