Surprising Santa

Hello, everyone. At last, a new picture - albeit of a cartoony sort.

Wishing you and yours a very happy and peaceful Christmas. May you all have a wonderful time.

And, unlike young Annabelle here, may each of you get exactly what you've been asking for - one way or another!

    1. Thanks Ronnie.

I've been away for Christmas, so I'm a little late to wish you a happy one but I hope you had fun. And that you have some New Year celebrations lined up.

      xx

  2. Love the drawing. Could not stopping thinking Santa is going also give Annabelle a penmanship work book. Or her "smart" auto-corrected the word. Anyways thank you so much for the amazing drawing. Your imagination and drawing are always amazing! Please have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. May any bad that happened this year be lost in the new year.

    1. Thanks, wes.

I'm not quite sure where the gift discrepancy arose - perhaps Santa just thought a poodle would be a more appropriate present - but I love the idea of the rogue autocorrection, since that plagues most of us these days.

Thanks for the nice words about my drawing and imagination too - I'm afraid there's been far too much of the latter and too little of the former this year, but I'll try to address that in 2015.

I loved your New Year sentiment too, and also offer it back to you :).

    1. Thanks, BOB, and thank you for your support since you're one of my longest standing visitors and commenters (dating back to before the blog existed!)

I haven't produced much this year, but I'm going to try and get back on track in the next.

  4. Magnificent! Has she rolled up sleeves or they are just short?

    1. Thank you, Anon. Those sleeves are definitely rolled up, to show she means business. Mind you, so are the the bottoms of her pyjama trousers - maybe they're just a little big for her, and she thought she might have to take a run-up and didn't want to trip over them.

    1. Indeed he is, Alex. I'd say the force of that swat is going to cause him to bang his head on the fireplace hood, so he'll be sore at both ends.

      Thanks for stopping by!

  6. Santa's helpers may have misread Annabelle's letter but Annabelle herself is definitely winding up on the "naughty"list, not only for waiting up for him but for what she's about to do. Perhaps Santa will give her a paddle after all (maybe several of them)... ;-)

    1. Thanks, smuccatelli.

You're right - Annabelle is a very naughty girl, and surprising and swatting Santa may not end well for her.

However, in keeping with the F/M-only theme of the blog, what happens next might have to be left to your imagination. :)

    2. Well, maybe Mrs. Claus will visit later, after breakfast perhaps. Or maybe Santa will leave a nice pair of leather-soled slippers for Annabelle's mother (with a note suggesting an alternative use for them as well)...

    1. Thanks, Mr X. It's good to be posting, and even nicer to be reading the positive feedback.

And regarding those elves... what a delicious thought. Erm, I mean: no, please no! I'll be good! ;)

  8. What a great Christmas treat! Annabelle is seriously cute with her pigtails and pyjamas. And no doubt her boyfriend has a whole year of paddlings to catch up on now!

    1. Thanks, Q. I'm glad you liked this. I discovered that pigtails are hard to draw - who knew plaiting was so complicated?

I don't think Annabelle's boyfriend has been missing out too much because she seems to have sourced another paddle from elsewhere in the meantime - but you can never have too many!

  9. Is this her way of saying the presents better be what she wants? :)

    1. It is indeed, scally - specifically, a new paddle. Santa should get a pretty good hint from what he's about to get swatted with :).

      Good to hear from you!
